United Way of the Piedmont improves health in Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union Counties by focusing on two target issues: safe environments and access to care. We work to increase access to physical and mental health resources, prevent disease and violence, and increase the resiliency of our entire community.
When families are struggling to make ends meet, they have to make difficult choices. Often, things like healthy foods or doctors visits when they're sick have to wait so the lights can stay on.
Lack of access to affordable and quality health care and supportive services prevents many families in our community from living healthy and safe lives.
Our Sharpen Family app is a free health learning tool that provides a vast library of more than 400 educational modules on mental health topics and offers help in a safe and discreet environment.
Through the Behavioral Health Task Force, we share goals and data with our partners while we all work to increase access to care for people with mental health and addiction challenges.
Through our Community Investment Process, we help fund health programs across our community that demostrate the best results and meet the greatest need–all to strengthen access to healthcare.
Together, we can build a stronger community where everyone can live safe and healthy lives. Will you join us?
