Understanding why and how our community members experience homelessness is critical to reducing and preventing it.
Spartanburg county's solution
A collective effort to address homelessness in Spartanburg County is underway. We need everyone to rally behind it.
IMMEDIATE PRIORITIES
Adequately fund and staff homelessness prevention and service efforts.
Establish coordinated, intentional efforts to assess, refer, and connect people in crisis to resources.
Increase access to emergency shelter(s) and beds, removing as many pre-conditions to entry as possible.
Long-Term Priorities
PREVENT
Reduce barriers to employment, including childcare and transportation.
Identify & assist at-risk households to ensure people stay housed.
SERVE
Coordinate emergency assistance services.
Increase behavioral health resources.
HOUSE
Increase the availability of affordable, accessible, and safe housing in our community.
Decrease housing cost burdens.
